Mortgage Underwriter/ Senior Mortgage Underwriter

This position supports the mortgage department by recommending approval, or approving within delegated lending authority, real estate loan applications for credit or extension of lines of credit secured by real property. These functions include but are not limited to, analyzing applicants’ financial status, credit, and property evaluation based on established guidelines while ensuring accuracy and up-to-date status of mortgage pipeline reports.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Underwriter: Associate’s degree in business management, finance or similar concentration or equivalent combination of formal training and experience with two to three years of direct experience and/ or training in portfolio and secondary market real estate lending; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.

 

Senior Underwriter: Bachelor’s degree in business management, finance or similar concentration or equivalent combination of formal training and experience with at least four years of direct experience and/ or training in real estate lending; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field. Supervisory experience a plus.
