$24,000 in Community Building Grants to Three Guam Nonprofits

Community First Guam Federal Credit Union awarded three Guam nonprofit organizations with $24,000 in match grants – the 2023 Member Impact Fund (MIF) – by Community First and Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (FHLB Des Moines). Catholic Social Service (CSS) Alee Shelters, Sanctuary Incorporated of Guam (Sanctuary), and Victim Advocates Reaching Out (VARO) each received $8,000 grants during an award ceremony on June 21, 2023, at Community First’s Tamuning Member Service Center.

35th Rainbows Run Donation

St. Francis Catholic School Donation

Community First Guam Federal Credit Union recently donated $1,500 to Saint Francis Catholic School. The funds will be used towards the repairing and purchasing of air conditioning systems for the school’s Multi-Purpose Building/Gym.

Donation to GMH Volunteers Association

Community First Guam Federal Credit Union donated to the Guam Memorial Hospital Volunteers Association annual 2022 Thanksgiving Raffle Fundraiser. The goal of $150K will be used to purchase ventilators and breathing machines. GMHVA provides voluntary services to patients, families, and visitors of the hospital and raise funds for the improvement of quality healthcare.

Historic Hagåtña Cleanup

The first Act of Community kicked off with a clean-up in the historic capital of Hagåtña, also the site where Community First is constructing its new Hagåtña headquarters opening in early 2023. The CFGFCU teams from each of the four Member Service Centers in Hagåtña, Tamuning, Mangilao, and Dededo joined the Hagåtña cleanup to help kick off the celebration and have committed to completing 15 Acts each per service center throughout the year. They will start by focusing on the villages in which they serve and branching out to where there are needs around the island.
